The event: a high important meeting

A
group of generals and high commanders were discussing the aftermath
of WW2 and its effects on France, the room was dark and quit except
for the discussion that was getting more and more heated.

“We
spent much money on the war,” one of the generals said,”
I’m afraid that our economy is falling”

“The
economy is going to be fine with some balance but we have to rebuild
our army, thousands of soldiers died and the army needs rebuilding”
the high chief commander argued.

“Silence”
the room fell silent and all the eyes turned to the vice president
who was the head of the meeting, he eyed all of them sharply until
his gaze fell on a man wearing a black suite, unlike all the other
people in the room, he was wearing a sun glasses which covered half
of his face the rest of his body wasnt clear because of the low
light source in the room , he had no impression on his face just a
blank look. He was looking at the ceiling since he joined the meeting
and had not bothered to look somewhere else; he looked very calm and
comfortable.

“Would
you like to share something with us Mr. Smith?” the vice
president asked him calmly knowing the quit man had something to say.

Mr.
Smith for the first time turned his eyes to look at the people in the
room examining them his face still hard like a rock yet still calm
and confident.

We
surely lost thousands of soldiers in the war” his voice was not
loud but everyone heard him clearly, he was more like talking to
himself, “and we have to rebuild our army”, many people
shifted in their seats not liking where the man was going.

“But
in the same time we have to raise the economy, we dont want the
people to get angry and we dont need revolutions right now”
he was talking slowly and confidently. “So the true question is
how to rebuild the army and raise the economy without spending much
money”. Now everyone in the room was listening carefully waiting
for the wise man to give them his answer. Smith eyed them behind his
glasses and a hint of smirk showed on his face, he liked the
impression he got from them.

“So
what do you have on your mind Mr. Smith?” the vice president
asked eager to know his solution.

Smith
took a deep breath and let it out slowly,

“Project
carthage”.
