Why?
Ulrichs POV
1month later
I don’t know why my friends are avoiding me. Sure I’m a half-vampire but everything only seems to be going great with Yumi with whom I still love. But Jeremie avoids me all the time, Aelita just walks away without saying so much as a word. Odd was still getting into the rhythm of hanging out with me but as it turned out he liked vampires so he didn’t find it hard to be around me. But at least I got two of my old friends back. Xana hadn’t attacked ever since a week ago when he finally decided I was too much for him and because I was a fellow vampire and a Vampire Prince Gavner and Jeremiah helped me out.
“Hello Mr. Stern answer the problem on the board” Mrs. Green said. I completely forgot that I was still in English class with probably the worst person in the world. Then I looked at the board. For me it was a simple problem because I was above college level before I left and Mrs. Green was just stupid.
“John and I went outside….crazy old hag” I said.
“That is correct and you have detention for the next 7 months Mr. Stern” crazy said. Mmmmm….maybe I should go feed on her tonight.
On the schoolyard….
I saw Odd and Yumi then I saw the man that basically led me to my vampirism. William Dunbar. trying to make a move on Yumi even though from rumors he went out with Sissi. And….why am I running? Then I looked back to see a whole mob of girls chasing me.
Yumi’s POV
“Hello William”I said trying to contain my anger against the man who cheated on me and now hits on me everyday.
“Hi Yumi so will you go on a date with me now”William said with his playboy smile.
“No William” I said with annoyance in my voice.
“Yumi. I know you want me so you can quit the act okay” he said.
“William you’re girlfriend is Sissi okay” I said. He looked like he was just focusing on my body and that everything I said he didn’t hear.
“Yumi that wasn’t a question” he gripped my arm and pulled me in close and whispered in my ear.
“Tell Ulrich this:There will be a vampaneze raid tonight where the Vampaneze Lord will kill him and become the Master of the Shadows and you Yumi shall be my queen” this could only mean one thing. William was the person that Ulrich was looking for and that they must fight to the death.
“You’ll never get away with this, Ulrich will stop you” I said. He then chuckled and gave a grin that could only mean ‘not-a-chance’. He then leaned in and gave me a fierce kiss. At that moment Ulrich came by and knocked William off balance. Then William sped away.
“Yumi what was that about” Ulrich said.
“I’ll tell you but first we need the whole gang.” I said.
“Okay my room 6:00” he said and then left not knowing what I was about to tell him would change our lives forever.
Ulrich’s POV
6:00……..
“So Yumi what’s the news”I asked curious as to why this was so urgent that it took me away from the hunt.
“Okay so time to explain. Today William came up to me and relayed a message for Ulrich:Tonight there will be a vampaneze raid and the Vampaneze Lord will kill you and become the Master of the Shadows and…and…and make me his queen” Yumi said. I was worried as soon as she said Vampaneze Lord.
“I think you should tell them the whole story” Mr. Slayer said. I knew he was right so I told them.
“Listen up because I’m not going to repeat myself.” I took a deep breath “As you know I am a Vampire Prince but over my time there my abilities have grown so much to the point where I was announced Vampire King. A prophecy foretells that a Vampaneze Lord will rise up to take the power that lies in the power of the shadows. He would succeed if not for the other half of the prophecy that tells that the Vampire King is the only one who can stand to this threat and become Master of the Shadows. The Master of the Shadows is basically going to rule the world because the humans have had their time. Anyway the thing about William making you his Queen will require you to become a vampaneze, Yumi.” every body looked stunned but stayed quiet because they knew I wasn’t done yet “and about the raid we will probably die because we are severely outnumbered and from the looks of it we would need at least 4 more vampires to deal with this.”
“I’m in” Odd said.
“Me too” Yumi said.
“Don’t forget about me” Aelita said. Jeremie hesitated for ten minutes but finally gave in.
“Let’s do this” Jeremie said.
“Okay then if you guys are sure you want to become vampires I want you to know it is irreversible” they all thought for a moment but still stayed.
“Okay then half-vampires you shall be. Gavnur, Jeremiah help me with this.” And that night my friends became creatures of the night.
